




































Drew Warren Tomberlin, Jr., is the younger of two children born to Jeanne and Drew Tomberlin at Fort Rucker, Enterprise, Alabama, on August 17, 1957. Drew grew up an “Army brat.” From Fort Rucker the Tomberlins moved to Orleans, France, then to Fort Benning, Columbus, Georgia, then to Whittier, California. In 1970 Drew’s father retired from the Army and the family settled in Columbus, Georgia, where Drew graduated from high school and college. Drew taught school for two years before entering Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. Drew graduated from Columbia Seminary in 1987 with a Master of Divinity degree. In 2010 Drew received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio.
An ordained Minister of Word and Sacrament (Teaching Elder) in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Drew has 25 years’ experience, 14 years in chaplaincy and 11 years in parish ministry. Drew deployed for Desert Shield/Desert Storm as a Navy Chaplain serving with Marines and was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for ministering to wounded Marines and Sailors on the battlefield. Drew has also served as a chaplain with the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Veterans Affairs. Drew’s years of parish ministry include pastorates in Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio, Iowa and Michigan.
Drew and Kim met in October 1996 at the Garrard Presbyterian Church in Manchester, Kentucky, and were married on October 31, 1998, at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Geneva, Georgia. The Tomberlins live in Bryan/College Station with their beloved rescue Beagles – Lottie, Bonnie, Fred and Sam.
